VOHI was privileged to be part of the stakeholders engagement meeting as one of the 4 CSOs that would be implementing in Moro LGA. The meeting spearheaded by Jhpiego, focused on reducing the threat of antimalarial drug resistance through innovative approaches and strengthening collaboration among key stakeholders involved in malaria prevention and treatment which was held on July 1st 2026 at FOMWAN Hall, Fate, Ilorin, Kwara State.
The engagement brought together Ward Development Committee (WDC) Chairmen and Roll Back Malaria (RBM) representatives from Moro, Irepodun, and Asa Local Government Areas. Their participation provided an opportunity to discuss community-level strategies, challenges, and practical approaches to improving the optimal use of Artemisinin-based Combination Therapies (ACTs).
Key discussions centred on the importance of appropriate antimalarial drug use, community awareness, stakeholder collaboration, and strengthening local structures to help prevent the emergence and spread of antimalarial drug resistance.
