As part of our commitment to mark the World Breastfeeding Week 2026, Vertex of Hope Initiative (VOHI) on August 5th 2026, engaged mothers and caregivers at the Primary Health Centre, Upper Gaa-Akanbi, in Ilorin South LGA, Kwara State, with a sensitization session on the benefits of breastfeeding.
The session highlighted the importance of exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life, its role in strengthening infant immunity, promoting healthy growth, and deepening the mother-child bond. Health workers also used the opportunity to address common misconceptions and encourage continued support for breastfeeding mothers within the community.
Initiatives like this reaffirm our commitment to improving maternal and child health outcomes at the grassroots level.
